Privacy Policy

Last updated . Please read this alongside our Terms & Conditions.

At Mealnest365 Hospitality LLP, we value your privacy and are dedicated to safeguarding your personal information. This policy outlines how we collect, use and protect your data through our website https://www.themealnest.com and The Meal Nest ordering app, including the Android app on Google Play (together, the "Platform").

1. Data Collection

  • We collect personal details like name, email, phone number, address, and other information necessary for processing orders or improving our services.
  • Sensitive data, such as payment information, may be collected only with your consent.
  • Certain data, including browsing behaviour and preferences, may also be tracked.
  • In the ordering app we may also receive, only when you choose to give them: your location (when you tap “use my location” to fill in your address), photos and voice notes (to show your door or to message our dietitian), your food and health preferences, and a token that lets us send delivery alerts to your phone if you switch them on. We do not read your contacts, messages or other apps.

2. Use of Data

We use your data to:

  • Fulfil orders and improve your experience.
  • Communicate promotions and updates (you can opt out).
  • Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorised activity.

3. Data Sharing

  • Your information may be shared with:
    • Internal affiliates, for service improvement.
    • Third parties such as logistics partners, payment processors, or legal authorities, where required.
  • We do not sell or share your data for third-party marketing without your explicit consent.

4. Security Practices

  • We adopt industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data.
  • While we strive for maximum security, data transmission over the internet carries inherent risks.

5. Cookies, analytics and advertising

  • We count how people move through the website with a simple counter of our own. It records which pages are opened, which buttons are tapped, which steps of the plan builder are reached, how far down a page people scroll, and the result of a PIN code check with the area name (never the PIN code itself). It uses no cookies and no ID that follows you from one visit to the next. A random code that exists only inside one browser tab joins the steps of a single visit together. It keeps only the event, the page, the type of device, the campaign link you arrived from and that random code. Your name, contact details, address and health details are never part of it. It is skipped if your browser asks not to be tracked.
  • When you first visit, a small notice asks about two things and offers three one-tap answers: “Yes, allow” (both), “Improve site only” (visit counting only, no ads) or “No, thanks” (neither). If you ignore the notice, we treat it as “No, thanks”, and nothing below is switched on.
  • Improving the website. If you say yes or “improve site only”, we use Google Analytics on our website pages to see which pages are opened and whether people tap WhatsApp, the phone number or “Order now”. Google sets cookies for this. It does not tell us your name. If you then pay for a plan, our server also tells Google Analytics that a purchase of a certain amount happened, that a renewal happened, or that your first delivery took place. The plan is always called “Meal plan”, and your name, contact details and health details are never part of it.
  • Offers on Facebook and Instagram. Only if you say “Yes, allow”, we also use the Meta pixel to tell Facebook and Instagram which pages you looked at, whether you checked a PIN code, sent an enquiry or started checkout, so our offers reach people who may want them. If you then place an order, we save the campaign link that brought you with your order, and our server tells Meta that a purchase of a certain amount happened. Your email and phone number are sent to Meta only as scrambled one-way codes (hashes), never in readable form. Meta handles this under its own privacy terms.
  • We never send health details, allergies, names, addresses or what you type into forms to Meta or Google, and we do not run these tools on the ordering app’s account, payment, rider or admin pages.
  • When you send an enquiry form, it also tells us which page you were on and, if you said “Yes, allow”, which link or site brought you to us. This goes only into the enquiry email to us and a copy of the enquiry saved in our own ordering system, so we can call you back and see which of our efforts bring in customers.
  • You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page. Saying no, or withdrawing, never affects your orders.
  • When you create an account or check out, you may tick an optional box to get offers from us and see relevant Meal Nest ads on Facebook and Instagram. It starts unticked, you can untick it in your profile, and it never affects your order. If you tick it, we may message you with offers and use your email or phone number, in scrambled form, to show you those ads or to find people like our customers. If you do not tick it, we do none of this.
  • Separate optional boxes let you ask for delivery messages on WhatsApp, and updates on your phone. These are about your orders only.
  • To stop offers or ads at any time, untick the box in your profile or write to orders@themealnest.com.

6. Rights and Data Deletion

  • You can access, update, or delete your personal data by visiting your account settings or contacting us.
  • Delete your account yourself: in the app or on the website, go to Profile and tap Delete my account. Steps and details are on our account deletion page. You can also email orders@themealnest.com and we will do it within 7 days.
  • What is removed: your name, phone number, sign-in (email and Google), saved addresses and map locations, recorded directions, family-member names and notes, health profile and food notes, and phone alert tokens.
  • What is kept: orders, delivery records, feedback ratings, payment records and issued tax invoices, with your name and contact details removed, so they can no longer be linked to you. We keep them to run and improve the kitchen and to meet accounting and tax rules.
  • A running plan or wallet balance must be settled first; we will refund the wallet balance and close the plan for you.
  • Data may be retained for legal or fraud-prevention purposes, but anonymised data may be kept for analytics.

7. Third-Party Links

  • Our website may include links to third-party websites.
  • We are not responsible for their content or privacy policies; please review them independently.

8. Policy Updates

  • We may update this policy occasionally; changes will be reflected here.
  • Continued use of the Platform indicates acceptance of updates.

9. Consent

  • By using our Platform, you consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your data as outlined in this policy.
  • If sharing data on behalf of others, you confirm you have their consent.

10. Health, allergy and family-member information

  • To cook and label your meals safely we ask for dietary preferences, allergies, health goals and, for some plans, information shared by a dietitian or doctor. We treat this as sensitive. It is used only to plan, cook, label and deliver your meals and to keep you safe.
  • If you add family members to your account, you confirm that you are allowed to share their details. For anyone under 18, the account holder (parent or guardian) gives consent, and we use the details only for that child’s meals.
  • Our kitchen team sees allergy and preference lines on box labels and kitchen sheets. They are not used for advertising.
  • Free calculator on our Resources page: the calculator itself runs in your browser and nothing is stored. Only if you press the button to receive your meal chart do we save your name, phone number and the details you entered (age, height, weight, goal and the results). Our dietitian and admin team see them, only to prepare and send your chart. We keep these for up to 12 months unless you become a customer, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

11. Who handles your data for us

We use trusted service providers to run the Platform. They handle data only on our behalf and only for that purpose:

  • Payments: handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card or UPI details.
  • Hosting, database and sign-in: secure cloud services that store your account and order records.
  • Email and messaging: services that send your order and account emails, and WhatsApp when you message us or we message you at your request.
  • Delivery: our riders and delivery partners see your name, address, phone number and delivery instructions, and nothing else.
  • Advertising and analytics (only with your consent): Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, as described in section 5.

12. How long we keep it

  • Account, order and invoice records: for as long as your account is active and for the period the law requires for accounts and tax records afterwards.
  • After you delete your account, orders, deliveries, feedback and payment records are kept without your name or contact details, as explained in section 6.
  • Staff selfies for attendance (our own team only) are deleted after 90 days.
  • Enquiry-form messages: up to 12 months unless you become a customer.

13. Your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

  • You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased (subject to legal record-keeping), and you may withdraw consent at any time.
  • You may nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.
  • To use any of these rights, or to raise a complaint, write to us using the contact details below. We will reply within 15 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
